At Ross Breeders Zambia, we know that successful poultry farming takes more than just good chicks — it requires the right knowledge and support.
That’s why we provide free technical support to farmers in Lusaka and the Copperbelt, where our experienced Technical Advisors are based. They are available to guide you on brooding, feeding programs, disease prevention, biosecurity, and overall flock management, ensuring your farm achieves the best results.
And because we care about farmers across the country, our support doesn’t end there. Even in areas where we don’t have Technical Advisors on the ground, we still offer nationwide assistance through phone calls and WhatsApp consultations.
We know that challenges can arise at any time, which is why we provide phone consultations to offer quick solutions and expert advice when you need it most. In cases where additional intervention is necessary, we may recommend that you visit your local veterinary office for further assistance.
Whether you’re a small-scale farmer or managing a large operation, our goal is to help you succeed. Reach out to us today and let’s work together to improve the health and performance of your flock!

Stockmanship
Stockmanship is the knowledgeable and skillful handling of livestock in a safe, efficient, effective, and low-stress manner. In broiler production, stockmanship is key for broiler welfare, performance, and profitability. The result of the positive human interaction with the broiler and its environment (stock sense) breeds good stockmanship.
Every stockman has to be in tune with and aware of the birds in the flock and their environment by closely monitoring the birds’ behavioral characteristics and the conditions within the poultry house. This monitoring is commonly referred to as ‘stock sense’ and is a continuous process that uses all the stockman’s senses.
The figure below illustrates the use of all senses to monitor a flock.
